Dave Latimer

Dlatimer

Dave Latimer is the Founder and President/CEO of D&M Marketing, LLC, which develops and markets the U.S. LubeTM line of quality fuel and oil additives to the heavy-duty truck and automotive aftermarkets. Founded in 2006, U.S. Lube has experienced dramatic growth in the heavy-duty market.

The initial U.S. Lube product line includes two flagship products: U.S. Lube Oil Enhancer and U.S. Lube Upper Cylinder Lubricant. U.S. Lube products are sold in more than 2,500 truck stops and travel centers across the United States and in heavy-duty truck parts stores. U.S. Lube will launch in Canada in the first half of 2009.

In 1982, Dave developed the concept of fast lube service centers to be located in truckstops situated on interstate highways. Acting on his entrepreneurial instincts, Dave approached El Paso-based Petro Stopping Centers, at that time a small regional chain, with this concept.

After opening the first Petro:Lube in 1983, Dave built Petro:Lube into a cornerstone service offering of Petro Stopping Centers – one which provided a strong competitive differentiation from other truckstop chains. As an executive vice-president of Petro, Dave oversaw the expansion of Petro:Lube to 69 locations, providing more than 300,000 oil changes per year. The Petro:Lube business unit achieved annual sales of $200 million and generated operating profit margins of 25%, accounting for more than 50% of Petro’s overall EBITDA.

Dave was responsible for developing supplier relationships and strategic partnerships with major companies such as Shell, Mobil, Bridgestone, Goodyear and Volvo. A recognized industry expert, Dave has served on various manufacturer advisory boards. He was part of the Petro Stopping Centers management team until the company was sold to Travel Centers of America (TA) in 2007 in a transaction valued at more than $720 million.
